Serena Williams may be in her third trimester and unable to actually compete in tennis tournaments, but that hasn’t stopped the No. 2 tennis player in the world from making time to hit around a few balls. That’s right, she’s still a much better tennis player than the rest of us while carrying her first child. Some people are just truly gifted out in these streets.
The 35-year-old mom-to-be posted a video on Instagram early Thursday morning of herself on the tennis court. Williams, and someone we can’t 100 percent make out in the clip, are hitting a tennis ball back and forth, and Williams in all black and a visor, clearly hasn’t lost a step.
Considering that Williams won the Australian Open while eight weeks pregnant, it should be no surprise that she can still practice while seven months pregnant. But after accidentally announcing her pregnancy in April, a rep for the 35-year-old stated that she was going to go on maternity leave for the rest of the year.
Williams is not only continuing to be active, but as she told TMZ in May, she wants to keep eating healthy. Even though she’s professed her love for tacos in the past, when asked about her pregnancy cravings, the star said “vegetables.” Not chocolate, not salty snacks, not all out junk — but vegetables. And she’s even been seen snacking on fruit while supporting Venus at the French Open. Maybe that’s why she can still run circles around just about anybody on the tennis court — seven months pregnant and all.
